Here they come again - the Sousa bands, the waving flags, the cheering crowds, and the fabulous fireworks. Ah, yes, it’s Yankee Doodle time again in America.  So let’s get ready to party.

It’s just that I really don’t understand what we’re celebrating.

Hey. The US is NOT Zimbabwe. Kosovo's a new country now. Libya's not part of the so-called "Axis of Evil." And important people here and there are denouncing the fact that China's holding the Olympics.

We may have a bad public image abroad. But it's an image of a gun-blazing cowboy who actually means well and is a puppet to big business and big government.

Everyone else... They're scum.
