Con Stuff + More

I went and saw the Beauty and the Beast musical the other day. It was really good and of course now I have the urge to cosplay Belle. I’ve been meaning to do a Disney costume for a while now though. Her blue dress doesn’t look difficult at all either. So I might be making that some time soon. :D

Con update time. I’m heading up to Animazement for ( Read more... )

Dragon*Con! It has been my favorite con since I started going in 2000. I think all of us Atlanta area folk will be there. And it would be a great con to wear Belle at too. If you've got any questions about it let me know and I'll try and answer them. I also even go to school in roughly the same area as the con.

Nothing about SeishunCon sounds interesting to me so far. But I think a good portion of local anime con crowd will end up going.

I've heard a lot of great things about D*Con. I know it's spread over multiple hotels, so I'm guesing they're all fairly close together? Also, I'm more anime focused than say sci-fi, comics, etc. (although I do love some Star Trek). Would you say it's geared more towards one crowd than another?

Yeah, Seishuncon doesn't exactly sound like it'll be amazing or anything. I might end up going just for Saturday.

Yup, four hotels(Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, and Sheraton). The Sheraton is a little ways away but it's no worse than say the Embassy Suites from AWA. If you're walking out there at night, or anywhere in downtown Atlanta at night, just go with a buddy. The Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton are all connected via "hamster tunnels". And there's also a food court/mall area connected directly to the Hyatt and to the Marriott by hamster tunnel. You can also take one of these tunnels to a parking deck which puts you closer to the Sheraton without having to be outside so much. And the Marriott is the party hotel now, used to be the Hyatt, so that's going to be the most crowded one at night. The Marriott's elevators are also broken up into sections of floors they hit, and all go up to the 10th floor which is a big open lobby. The Hyatt sucks for the elevator situation. If you ever end up staying there try to stay on a lower floor so you can use the stairs. The Hilton is pretty quiet and I've never had an issue getting an elevator there. And the ( ... )

It sounds so big with four hotels! And I just found out about the whole track thing. I didn't know they organized it like that. It sounds like they offer basically something for everyone which is great. The guests seem really amazing too. Wow~. I can't believe I've been missing out on this con. It seems really fun. The crowd is generally older right? Less of the slightly obnoxious anime fangirls, or so I've heard. And is cosplay just as prominent?

Sorry for all the questions. D: This is really helpful though!

I went to DragonCon last year ^^ It was great.

Also, you could probably room with us at AWA if you wanted. It would be me, Utai and Dark (I think you know them..they were at Momocon with me and Kiki) and my sister. I'll ask Dark when he gets on and let you know.

Okay Edit: We do have space so if you need it, let me know and we'll count you in ^^

Which hotel are you staying at? I've gotta work out a situation with some school friends possibly going, but I'll keep this in mind and let you know soon! Thanks!

Are you going to D*Con this year too? :]

The..Sheraton? The one across the street. You have to travel across the little bridge to get to it.. or take the shuttle, but its a suite and so has alot of room.

Yep, I bought my DragonCon badge like..the month after the con last year XD No stopping me. Don't know what I am wearing but I'm so there.

Concerning Seishun-con, I'm pretty excited. Some awesome people are running it and it should be a pretty successful con! It'll be good to attend too, to show your support and help the con grow! You can catch myself, Steven, Meru, and Megan there~ I'll probably attend on Friday and Saturday (going on vacation Sunday)~

Dragon*Con is probably my favorite con now. Ever since last year, I've been super excited about this year's con! I am counting down the days!! :D

I love the timing of the con. Most summer cons tend to be a lot farther away, so I was real happy to hear about another Atlanta one. Hopefully it'll be successful this year and keep growing. :]

I really hope I can make it to D*Con now! Everyone talks so highly about it.

Tohma's offered you space, but I can offer you space as well. We're at the main hotel, the Renaissance Waverly. At the moment, it's me, Kiki, and two of my friends.

Thanks so much for the offer! I'd prefer the Waverly due to costume issues and my parents not wanting me to run into creepers outside at night (lulz). I've got to talk to some school friends who might be going first, but I'll let you know real soon. Thanks!

No problem. I'll be arriving late, but Kiki and my friends all have their names down for the hotel so any one of us can check in.

I might be interested in going with you to Seishun Con, but I'll have to see. Kiki and I are in the process for finalizing out trip, and we return exactly 10 days before the con. It would be nice to attend another summer con though.

Okay, situation sorted! If you don't mind one more, I'd love to join your room. I'd really appreciated it. :] Just let me know prices when you've got them.

And yesss, you should come to Seishuncon! I don't know how exciting it'll be the first year, so more cosplay friends will make it better. I understand if you don't though. I'd be worn out after a trip like that. Japan will be tons of fun! I can't wait to hear about it when you two get back.
