The subtitle kind of says it all. While this is a book by a knitter for knitters, it has some basic formulas for hats, scarves, socks, and shawls, and I totally plan to use the sock formula.

I think the best compliment I can give this book is that I wanted to put it down to knit. It's inspirational, and it reminded me (if I needed reminding) why I love to knit so much.
