So, as I somewhat said, I've thought up a game I will likely never ever make. The game itself would very likely be a mix between Tomba!, a Metroidvania, and Mega Man Zero/ZX, but with quarter-circles and stuff to do special moves.
Here are some of the stuff I've written about it to just make the world a concrete place.
Characters:
Alphonse De La Cruz: Boy who dresses almost exclusively in blue and wears a stupid Naruto-esque headband. He's the general hero of the story and playable from the very start of the game. Also, he's kind of a dick, the Superman variety kind of dick, as he has no interest in saving the world at all unless it means fighting something. Somewhat proficient with his specialized sword, able to do a flaming Sword Shoryuken. Learns the ability to summon vehicles to act as "strikers", starting with a toy car, to a skateboard, to a scooter, to a motorcycle, to a car, to a bus, then finally with the secret scroll item "The World", can summon a steamroller. Can also double jump.
Pang Watanabe: Massive, gentle-hearted sumo-esque fellow with red shorts and flip-flops. He's sort of Alphonse's sidekick, although they act more like partners. Playable from the start of the game. He may not look like it, but he has the highest possible double jump, and that is further helped by his inate ability to triple jump after killing/eating an enemy. His massive arms can bust through doors and walls Alphonse couldn't dream of breaking, although due to his somewhat passive nature, his attacks aren't nearly as damaging as his cohort's. A secret scroll item "Chonja Claws" enable Pang's gorilla-like arms to also climb walls with relative ease, making him the easiest person to find hidden items with.
Princess Mia Sol: The "damsel in distress", but not really. For some ridiculous reason she is absuredly proficient with projectile weapons, namely guns. Unplayable for the first half of the game, as she needs to be rescued from the Crab Dragon from the Swamp of Sorrows, a situation she only got herself into so she could be rescued by a knight in shining armor, too bad she was rescued by Alphonse & Pang. She's kind of a bitch, but is at least a few notches more sincere than Alphonse is. A secret scroll item "Pr3di7or kill3r" allows her to pretty much fly by shooting downwards.
Stages:
World 1: Coquitlam Springs - The first world of the game, along with the hometown of several of the characters. Necrocodile Kevin's castle is to the southeast, and the main town is past the 1KM forest, which is also the tutorial grounds. The best place in the game to just chill and chat with the townsfolk, all of whom are on friendly terms with Alphonse & Pang.
World 2: Brook Mountain - Northeast of Coquitlam Springs, a mountain that is covered, and surrounded by trees. Some of the people, along with Emma Lee state that a giant Forest Gorilla lives somewhere on the mountain. Always looking for a fight, Alphonse decides to help Emma Lee find (and fight) the Forest Gorilla, Pang tagging along to make sure he doesn't burn down the forest to do so.
World 3: Port Coquitlam - Further south from the main town of Coquitlam Springs, this bustling port has many people living in it, but most of them have been scared off by the hideous monsters that suddenly appeared not to long ago. Pang & Alphonse stumble upon the attacked town after Dwayne Gibble challenges the latter to a duel via the internet.
World 4: Swamp of Sorrows - West of Brook Mountain, the Swamp of Sorrows is imfamous for it's graveyards and castles. Duncan McCluffin & Princess Mia Sol live in the less frighting part of the swamp, which is in fact very grassy and pleasant. Upon hearing that a princess was kidnapped by the Crab Dragon, Alphonse was intrigued by the idea of a reward. But soon after hearing that his friend Duncan had disappeared when he went to fight the Crab Dragon alone, Alphonse & Pang rushed there find him.
World 5: Great Cave Offensive - A massive cave to northwest of Coquitlam Springs. This cave has been said to be an endless death trap to those who wish to explore it, which is exactly why Brett Bretterson wants to film it. Pang stumbles upon the cave after noticing air coming out of a rock wall during one of his nature hikes. Upon learning about the cave, Mia Sol & Alphonse decide to go to it to hopefully find treasure.
If you read the thing, you can see how I claim it to be a ridiculously large game that may not even be possible if I was even a game designer with a loyal group of programmers, artists, musicians, etc.
But who cares? IT'S LIKE I'M CRAFTING A WORLD WITH WORDS!!!
PS: I've got a ton more characters that aren't the playable ones that I've got typed down too, it's just that it would be FAR too long, yanno?
