So, the orphanage got back to us and Gift is still available. The next step is to send them an application, and then we'll have to get a home study done. It's going to be an extremely long and drawn out process, and a lot of things will have to fall into place for it to work out, but I am excited. :)

My husband is officially awesome. He got me a new (to us) minivan for Christmas, and I had no idea until I unwrapped the key this morning. It's awesome! It has leather seats (which are awesome for the messy kids) and butt warmers! And automatic sliding doors! And a dvd player! Woo hoo!

So, my back is out. It's been hurting a little progressively worse all week, and yesterday I had to drive to Green Forest and back to pick up a check and it was killing me when I got back. Today I can't bend over or pick anything up--which is extremely inconvenient when you've got two kids, one of whom is only a year old. I'm about to take a soak ( Read more... )

It's 9:30 in the morning, and I didn't go to sleep last night. I had a project that turned out to be terrible in every way, and it had to be done by this morning. I knew I'd be up late, but I expected to at least get a couple hours of sleep in. Quinn is one today. I can hardly believe it! He's such a big boy now, and he's such a charmer. I'll try to post some pictures of him and Ruby soon. We had a birthday party for him and Jake's sister's daughter, Brooklyn, who's three days older than him. It was totally insane. I don't think I want to do that again. Man, I'm so glad the election's almost over. I am so sick of the ads and the mudslinging and having to hear about it all the time. I'm hoping we won't have to wait in line forever to vote. The district we're in is pretty small, though, so I don't think it'll be too bad.

We took Ruby trick-or-treating tonight, and it was very cute. She was dressed up as a ballerina. We didn't go to that many houses, but she still got a ton of candy--which I'm not that thrilled about. I have to find a good hiding place for the candy! I think she would have eaten the whole bag if I'd let her. She's doing a funny thing now when we say ( Read more... )

Ruby has a new favorite question that I hear several times every day without fail. It's, "What's that sound?" If she hears anything slightly out of the ordinary, she asks what the sound is incessantly until we answer her. It's cute but can get slightly irritating ( Read more... )
