[At that moment, Vivi just so happens to come out into the main room from her bedroom, oblivious to Sanji's attempted stealth. Seeing him, she begins to give an absent wave hello, not noticing anything amiss.]

[...that is, until his shirt squirms beneath his hand. She raises an eyebrow.]

...Sanji-san? What is that?

[Vivi gives a soft gasp as the kitten's head pops out of his collar, rushing over in an instant. She reaches out her hand to gently stroke the fur between the kitten's ears, smiling excitedly. Really, it's all she can do to keep from just plucking her right out of Sanji's shirt.]

Is she from next door?

[She was over there the other day and couldn't help but notice the abundance of kittens. She still hasn't made the connection as to why Sanji has this particular kitten over here, however.]

[Tiny kitten accepts all forms of affection like currency, and starts following the hand with her wet nose wiggling curiously at it.

Sanji, meanwhile, relaxes when it's clear Vivi's reaction is nothing but positive. In fact, he lifts the kitten out of his shirt so she can get a better look at her - runt of the litter here. *_* Isn't she cute?]

Yeah, that damn preacher might've roped me into this.

[It takes Vivi a moment longer to realize the implication behind what Sanji's saying.] ...wait, Sanji-san, is she yours? [Vivi's smile widens. She's 100% behind the idea of having a kitten around. Cats are revered animals back in Alabasta, but beyond than that, kittens are just adorable. She leans in a little closer, taking in the tiny pink nose and the paws and eeeee.]

She's so small. And look at the color of her fur; it's so bright! [Vivi runs a finger down the slope of the kitten's nose, then hooks it around to scratch behind her ears.]

...could I hold her?

But of course, Vivi-chan~! Here... [He hands over the kitten carefully, whose head swerves to get a better look at this new person cuddling her]

And you don't mind? I was gonna break the news later tonight.

[Vivi brings the kitten close, cradling her in one arm while tickling the fingers of her free hand though its fur. After a moment of this, a soft buzzing thrum starts up as the kitten begins to purr, a little unevenly at first.]

Mind? Of course not! [WHO WOULD MIND?]

[The kitten yawns and stretches out a bit on Vivi's arm.] ...she's so sweet. Have you named her?

Not yet, though Wolfwood and Milly-chan named her Pudding.

Oh! Vivi-chan, you should help me! Such a lady must be naturally brilliant at cat-naming~!

Hm. [Vivi lifts the kitten up to get a look at her eye-to-eye, before replacing her in the crook of her arm, where the purring resumes. She shakes her head.] No, Pudding doesn't suit her. A cat should have a regal name.

[As if on cue, the kitten twists onto her back on Vivi's arm and begins to bat at a strand of hair hanging over her shoulder. The tiny paws swatting get more and more frantic, and the kitten nearly topples. So very dignified. Vivi laughs, offering a finger for the kitten to grab instead.] Have you got any ideas yet?

[Well, that's...not quite where Vivi would have gone with that, but it seems Sanji is already pretty attached to the name, and she does't have the heart to veto it. She smiles, playing a careful tug of war with the kitten and her finger.]

It matches her orange fur.
