I had a consultation for my damn wisdom tooth a couple of weeks ago at the Royal Surrey Hospital, typically an hour behind schedule in an overly heated waiting room. The X-ray was quick enough and the consultation with doctor brief and to the point.

The pain is fun. I got all four done at once under general and was picking bone splinters our of my jaw a year later. Don't lose chilli down the empty socket. That gets real stale real quick. :)

Like Andy, I had all 4 done at once under general anaesthetic. While not a fun process, it wasn't that bad and once the initial painkiller stage was over I didn't have any problems healing. Actually the worst bit that I remember is the hideously milky cup of tea that I had to drink before they'd let me go home (I'm still convinced it was that which made me throw up, and not the anaesthetic).

Sure it will hurt for a few days afterwards, but then it will be over - that's gotta be better than having continual problems with the pain.

Go on, make that appointment and get it over with!

hmpf, easier said than done, I suppose its all in my mind really, just scaring myself. I have had no problems with the pain for at least 6 months now.
