Cancelling Subscriptions

Sweet Mother of God, this is a chore in itself. I have two monthly Subscriptions, one to Lovefilm, the other to Orange. Both of these have become redundant recently, I'm just not using them in any shape or form, which was basically just pissing money away.

So first I phone LF. To give them there due you go straight through to a Customer Service Adviser, who was lovely, though probably on the other side of the world judging from the Indian accent. After a little chat she explains that NO, I can't cancel my account now, as they have to A)Have all DVD's sent to you returned and B)It needs to be done within five working days of your billing date. Why they can't tell you this on the website before you phone is a bit baffling. Even then, they have to receive the Dvd's before you can cancel, but as soon as they receive them they automatically post more to you(bangs head against wall). I suppose you phone them after you've just posted them and let them know yes there on the way home.

Orange were a whole lot easier, once you got past the automated service, which took you through nine different menus e.g. "Please press one if your phone is red, press two if you have a stupid ring tone, press three for a customer services on a distinctly bad line with someone who's first language isn't English and press four to hang up in despair". I find it distinctly ironic that these so called comunications providers have shit line quality when phoning for CS. However once through it was a doddle to change my plan. Yipppee, I no longer need to piss cash away on my mobile! More money for the DJing.

On which note I add that most people on e-bay are illiterate and that the item I bought for DJing was solely based on the fact that they could spell vinyl. Right back to those pesky applications....
