Here Today, by Ann Martin (not extremely depressing, but it got to me)

There's probably more but that's all I can think of right now.

Oh, and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Not only is it depressing, but it makes you really REALLY angry (damn that Dolores Jane Umbridge!).
