Mary Poppins!
:D *happy sigh*
Long story short, there's an English institute in Tandil called Holy Mary English School. They've always been keen on musical theater, and a few years ago they founded the Holy Mary Musical Company, to give this very special annual activity its own place. Anyone can be a part of it as long as they're willing to and between the ages of 6 and 18. The students and teachers choose a play each year, and gather weekly to prepare it, and near the end of November or beginning of December, they hold two or three shows to the community (just two this year). I used to do it, but now that I've graduated from high-school, I'm only there as a helper. But my little brother and sister are in the play, and they're doing Mary Poppins!!
Today was the opening night, and it was WONDERFUL. (: Seriously, absolutely crazy ass great. Considering this isn't Broadway, and these are young amateur kids... Somebody must say it, so I will: PURE AWESOMENESS. It's not just because my brother was Bert and my best friend was Mary *whistles nonchalantly* lol. No, no, I swear I'm not in the least biased. The rehearsal today was crap so I was totally and positively surprised tonight!!!
Plus, I'm sort of working with the band director (because there's a live band playing) to help them with the timing between dialogues and songs and such. I've also been asked to correct the children's pronunciation, which is really my forte, and I'm already practising my teaching skills lmao.
And the band, oh, the band. They're six:
* Keyboards (she's the director)
* Saxophone
* Drums
* Trumpet
* Bass
* Transverse flute (and here's a shocker: he's been hitting on me since we met yesterday. Well... Hitting on me... Let's paraphrase that into: making a lot of eye contact, looking at me when he should be playing, winking at me with no apparent reason -more than once- and trying to find conversation topics other than: oh, that sounded really good! He's cute, so who knows. Maybe we can have a summer fling or whatever lol).
