beware of TDK/DW spoilers

On the whole, I really enjoyed it, much to my brother's chagrin (he and sis made a bet for my soul but he was banking on me disliking it as much as he did whilst sis thought very much the opposite... whoops).

I agree with everyone who said it was dark, something perhaps not accurately reflected by the 12A rating. I was covering my eyes at several points. And there were quite a few shockers in there. I still can't believe they blew up the love interest. Not that I had any great love for her - frankly she wasn't very interesting - but it was still surprising.

I still hate the stupid Batman voice though but it bugged me less the more the film progressed.

Oh, and for a self-professed herald of anarchy, the Joker sure is well-organised. I mean, all those hijinks, just think of the logistics involved! The meticulous planning to pull them off! He's like an OCD anarchist. But hey, since he's a paranoid schizo I'll let it go. And also, it's often the way isn't it - it's quite hard to upturn a convention without somehow employing it first.

I did feel like the whole Harvey Dent transformation happened a little too quickly, but I guess the combination of what happened to him plus the lack of painkillers would probably drive most people over the edge. Good FX though on his gross face!

So yeah. I don't think it's the best film ever made and it certainly isn't perfect, but I did think it was good, and I vastly preferred it to Batman Begins.

Currently listening to clips from the Doctor Who proms... the music that plays just before Donna's "departure" still chokes me up a bit. I *still* can't believe they did that. Gutted!
