I also started watching Doctor Who because I found Torchwood first. But my friend forced me to stop and made me watch DW first. Before series 3 of DW rolled around, I vastly preferred TW.

I'm pretty sure it was Tosh. That sounds a lot like something she would say, too.

So I'm not alone there, awesome. The only bad thing about watching them the way I did is that you don't get the Doctor Who references in Torchwood. Though it caused me to think backwards when I was watching Doctor Who, which was amusing in its own way.
