Fireworks

I miss fireworks.

Every year, over the May 24 weekend and on Canada Day, I want to grab an old blanket and a picnic basket and some glow sticks, and go set up at the park to watch the fireworks. Fireworks are also way more impressive in person-- not just the higher image definition of your retina compared to a camera, but booming explosive sounds, and even feeling the compression waves hit you and shake the ground if you're close to the big ones.

On a side note, watching 'em on TV is not so bad, especially the new years ones, where it's so damn cold outside. My first date with Ameryll-sama was watching fireworks on TV.

I'd go with you, but there's this pesky ocean in the way, and I don't have a giant orbital laser to turn it into steam to get it out the way.

What's canadia day all about, anyway? Is it like Canadian Thanksgiving, where you looked at an american holiday and said 'we want one too', or does it have an actual point?
