Dairy Queen, by Catherine Murdock, is a YA book with a lesbian character. The female protagonist finds out to her surprise, confusion, and amusement that she's apparently been dating her best friend. She doesn't return her feelings, but her friend finds happiness with someone else. Also, the protagonist shows no disgust or revulsion, and works to maintain the friendship. At the end of the book they're friends. The revelation of her friends sexual preference and crush on her was handled very gently and respectfully. I liked that it wasn't treated as a shocking or earth-shattering revelation, but something pretty normal.
