Saddening times

I'll try and do a hot and not later for the lions forums but for here it's going to have to be fuller and more (hopefully) coherent tale.

There were two events for me.
Friday night-Saturday midnight and the rest.

Sounds like a good event. Back in riftworld days - when Crowe turned into a dog and eventually left the party, leaving Lyria behind, that was some of the most powerful RP I've ever had, even though a fair chunk of it was with myself. Spook turning into a dog (yes there is a theme) and Spanners executing him was equally powerful in different ways, but shorter lived as she later got killed too.

*EDIT* 'Fat LRPer to the foot' is indeed an official injury description, along with 'argument with a nettle'. We used to use 'rabbit hole interface error' as well but that might have been re-phrased.

I think in time it will be a good event it just destroyed me at the time. I think there some cathartic tears there too, and there is an incredible amount of potential for the future, I have so many people looking for things for me

Thanks Sarah

It takes another LRPer to understand the impact that things like this have. :-)

I know.

I explained it to Nethanial IC on Saturday night when he came to be nobly awkward at me. He went through the usual and then said he knew how I felt, I think he expected me to laugh or something, but I knew he did. He and Iranyae, Seraphim and Karen, Sid and Meg all nknow implictly what Karnak was feeling as I imagine they fear what happened To Polly happening to their partner.

"Now I'm slowly coming to terms with the fact that something wonderful is over and that something new is starting and I have no idea if that will play out and if that sounds like melodrama then it gets worse as both of us have described it as it feels like a break up. :) "

If you ever feel that your reaction to this is too melodramatic then please talk to me about my reactions to Wen's death! Dear lord did that knock me badly!
(In other words, I think what you're having is a perfectly understandable reaction)

I would have done if people hadn't been so wonderful, but thank you. :D

I just read Marianne's obit for Polly and started crying again. But still, she died the way she lived, and the way she wanted, and not many characters get that.

The last 4 years have been awesome - what started as shits and giggles in fic has become something that anchored my sanity through a very black time and brought a smile to my face even when things were crashing down around me.

I'll miss you, and Karnak, hugely. Thanks for the laughter, angst, stories and tears, and in the words of a well-known bard, "I'll see you again".

It makes me too.
Have you seen Karnak's for Hengist?
It made Taz blub.

That was certainly my aim at certain points, and you returned the compliment

That Bard's work certainly may well appear in the near future ;)

Sid has taken to referring to it to Karnak as them being separated for the time being, like in the Void. It's a weird one.

Not really sure what to say love, since I've said it all in person, but just to reiterate I know where you're coming from and I understand why its shaking you up a bit.
