Ooof. What a crazy apartment thing. Reminds me of our kitchen occasionally randomly leaking when it was raining and them claiming they couldn't find the leak, only that was at least sort of more predictable. Chunks did fall down, in the end, though.
I'm glad things are getting fixed and newly paint-coated and all that.
THINGS THAT NEED TO BE THROWN AWAY BECAUSE WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH TWO-YEAR-OLD ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLYS STACKED IN OLD SHOPPING BAGS OF ASSORTED SIZES? NOTHING, THAT IS WHAT. I have been thinking about that myself. Realistically, I will never look at them again, no matter what I say. Because there will always be things I haven't read to look at, instead. But then I think, I could SELL THEM ON EBAY OR SOMETHING. Except there are stray issues missing here and there. So...I should recycle the bloody things, shouldn't I.

Here is a proverb I just made up: "It cannot be a collector's item if you don't have room for it." Let us live by that proverb.
