I think its about time that I do a lil updating this blog, been ignoring it for a fair bit. So, I recently got back from my solo backpacking trip to Europe. Yes ... solo! Lots of people commented on how dangerous it might have been for a girl to be travelling alone in Europe. But I believe if you make smart decisions and don't put yourself out there to be a target, you'll be alright. I came back in one piece, without even a scatch. 'cept dry skin from the weather!! I thouroughtly enjoyed this small adventure of mine and will never forget the kindness and hospitality I've been shown.

I started my trip in London, arriving on an early Saturday morning, well 6am to be precise. The 13-hour flight was pretty much bearable, still finding it difficult to sleep in a plane though. I couchsurfed mostly on this trip and was supposed to meet my host, Luis at 2pm at Victoria Station. The Tube isn't as confusing as it look although it was at first glance. I reach Victoria at around 9am and with a few hours to waste, I headed down to Buckingham Palace and walked around abit. I was disappointed when I found out that there was no changing of guards that day. Walked backed to the train station, grab a quick lunch and waited for Luis. Feeling jet-lagged and sleepy, I crashed immediatelt on Luis's couch once I got to his place.

About my host, Luis - He's from Portugal and has been in London for the past 6mths doing an internship with the Portugal Trade of Commerce. he saved me from having to sleep on the streets of London when all others have declined my couch request. Luis shared his flat with a French guy but he works alot so I didnt see much of him. Luis is such a laid-back, friendly guy, it was always a laugh hanging out with him. And the guy can cook as well, on one of the nights, he made pasta with tuna. Yeah, it sound weird right, but it was pretty nice actually. I should prolly get the recipe from him.

He also brought me to meet his Portuguese friends on my first night in London, where they fed me with lots of Portuguese food and much later in the evening, we went down to Old Street for some dancing. Made it back to Luis's flat just before sunrise. The next 3days were spent doing touristy stuff like Big Ben, London Bridge, London Eye, British Museum. Thanks for London 'fabulous' weather, I was mostly wet and very cold. The day I left London, it was forecasted that temperature might drop to 2°C!! Brrrrrrrrrr

I think its enough of an update for now. Seriously, I do not know who actually read my blog. Ah well... Berlin will be next.
