☙ prophecy ❧
and with oriphiel's descent to rule the earth came christ, the redeemer of the fall from grace, the benevolent spirit. together the archangel oriphiel and the child of god purified mankind; oriphiel with his scourge of plagues and torment, christ with his healing and sacrifice, ridding the world of decadent degeneration and restoring the human spirit to its natural virtue. as mankind settled, 109 years after christ's departure, oriphiel relinquished his throne to anael.

he will rule again in the year 2300 A.D., when man has become so corrupt by technology, blinded by the luciferic and ahrimanic hosts, that he requires oriphiel's wrathful forces of nature once again to redeem his soul. oriphiel resides in the untouched wilderness of the earth, in all things basic, instinctive, and divinely pure. he does not revel in exacting vengeance or pain, but instead prefers the untamed, unbiased spectrum of nature's will, be it docile or cruel. he is, however, fiercely loyal, especially to the plight of the human condition, and it is his personal sacrifice to subject man to torment when necessary. it is a burden that weighs heavily on his own spirit.

man will need oriphiel upon his throne to wield a strong hand, and man must stand fast against the ensuing storm of disease and disaster. only then will the second coming of christ appear as a beacon in the dark; only then will mankind be lifted out of its misery.

☙ wilderness ❧
the divine spirit of oriphiel, archangel and prince of the seventh heaven, manifests itself to man in several ways. most commonly, he knows oriphiel as the many forces of nature, both biological and geological. oriphiel is the rain, the wind, the fall of a feather to the earth from a bird's wing as it takes flight. he is that quiet afternoon bathed in sunlight when you have ventured out of cement walls and iron gates in search of peace. he is both the hurricane that demolishes a village and the clear air that renews it. he is the plague that decimates a population as well as the discovery of the cure.

he is also the image of a young man, rough-hewn and wild-haired, with eyes sometimes dark as a storm upon the sea. other times those eyes are light and lucid as a tide pool, on bright days when you can see straight down to white, white sand. he bears the mark of his rank and bond to service all over his body in the form of intricate ink, simultaneously a badge of honor and a web of shackles. he channels much of his power through them when he takes human shape.

they often burn. he is often tired. there is a price for every gift, after all, even in heaven. some are wise enough to call it the balance of nature.

the taxation of his mission on his spirit may leave oriphiel prey to the temptation to sleep... among other things. the more he dwells in human form, the more humanity with all its emotions, struggles, and other ineffable intricacies overshadows his inherent divinity. he cannot, however, seem to help his curious urge to explore its potential.

what if oriphiel, an archangel, were not infallible but in fact as vulnerable to corruption as man?
