There's a lot of things I don't think I can stand anymore. There are a lot of damaging ways I think: damaging to me, but wrapped up in a big bright bow of "being a nice person." No, they really go into a lot more in the book. Plus, most basic psychology I've heard about pretty much tries to make you "let go," of the trauma or traumatic event, "come to terms with," and "move on." This can even cause you to learn to suppress more "negative" ehaviours. Among other things, this book and methodology is more about letting yourself sit in the emotion, and re-conditioning yourself to believe that it's okay to feel that emotion. In other words, most "basic" psychology is event-driven therapy, whereas this is more emotion-driven therapy.

That's what I've seen and read, anyway. I might be wrong, or know distorted facts :)
