The line between Kowai and Kawaii is razor thin.

So it's the most gloriously slow day at work ever. Memorial Day in the US, everyone is off doing whatever they do in Michigan in the spring. Been here since eleven, had one call. So I figured I had time to write. What follows will be completely random snippets jotted down during the course of the next five hours ( Read more... )

You have been a busy little filker, haven't you!

Always a woman, Gambler and Turn the page are no problem, I can play or fake all of them. I've never tried Show me heaven but it shouldn't be too hard, I'll just need to grab a copy of the song off you at some point (I thought I had the mp3 but I was wrong). Stranger will be a little harder on acoustic, but I guess I could fake it. Candle... well, we've talked about this.

My song preference for your Inarafilk would be Dust in the wind, for obvious reasons.

I am looking forward to some serious filkage this weekend.

Heh. The crew does fit pretty well... HeroBlake, LancerAvon, BigguyGan, SmartguyVila, ChickJenna, SpecialpowerchickCally, and PetZen. Or HeroAvon, LancerTarrant, BigguyDayna (a bit of a stretch, but she is theoretically a combat expert), SmartguyVila, ChickSoolin, PetSlave, and Pet/MentorOrac.

I was working on the theory that for the first couple of seasons Avon is the Smartguy, Jenna is the Lancer, and Vila is the genius-ditz Chick (partly based on doc_spatial's theory that the unspoken subtext of the show is a love triangle with Avon and Blake (later Tarrant) competing for the affections of Vila. I am sure he came up with this theory solely to piss me off ( ... )

*LOL* Yes, Vila as Chick works, but on the other hand, he seems to fill the Smartguy role perfectly, much better than Avon. Avon isn't weak, isn't generally comic the relief, and as far as I recall Vila had more time for Gan.

True, Jenna and Soolin don't fit the Chick stereotype well, at least for ditziness, though Jenna in particular is definitely the token female until Cally shows up. I'm not convinced Jenna provides enough of a contrast to Blake to be a good Lancer, despite their different backgrounds.

Orac would easily qualify as Smartguy if there was no Vila, but with the core crew already in place, the computers fit better as pets or mentors. Aside from Orac, they're mostly there to follow orders rather than give advice; closer to Artoo than Obiwan.

Oh yeah, I forgot you have an LJ! (friended...)

[Alasatyr looks up at Tracy with fluttering bambi-like eyes] Nice! Nice! Feel the waves of nice emanating in your direction!

(that's my rather disturbing way of saying, yes I would be most interested in borrowing s3... Anything you're after? I've got all of B5 on vhs, west wing on dvd, and various other things on computer.)

I'm actually quite enjoying the guitar lessons with Kat. So far she has lasted longer than everyone else I've ever given guitar lessons to put together so I'm quite chuffed. Plus the massages are a most excellent bonus...

She wouldn't be angry, just sad and terribly, terribly disappointed...

So yes, you should pre-emptively pummel very hard anyone who derives their concept of grammar from text messaging.
