What I learned in class today....

When synthesizing a rule:
    -if you use the phrase 'carbon based life-form' your rule is too broad
    -if you name people specifically your rule is too narrow

The trick is to strike a happy medium then apply whichever version serves your interests best.

I feel compelled to use "carbon based life-form" in all my rules from now on.

You should! It is hard to go wrong that way. It is, ah, pretty much universally encompassing.

I should add that as a line to my resume: "MY RULES ARE UNIVERSAL."
