I remember that bear! Bruges was one of the cities that my father dragged me through when I was an unappreciative teen. Saw my first ballet in that city. Do the little old ladies still sit on their front steps making lace?

I didn't see any - but there was a small statue of one on top of a chimney. She looked like she was about to fall over backwards.

Bruges! One of my favourite places, even if the many, narrowing as you went up steps in the Bellfort were a thing of great evil and terror! I still remember wandering round it alone in the early morning in a light snow with all the beautiful buildings around me and all the canals frozen to be one of the most magical experiences I've had. :)

It's been so cold here I'm surprised we haven't had snow! I bet it was gorgeous - it's pretty enough even in the rain :)

That bear is a pimp and no mistake.

I resisted the urge to break into song ;) well not entirely as there were random irish tunes going thru my head. Especially with all the restaurants selling mussels. *hums "cockles and mussels alive, alive-o"...* I am a scary person to travel with.
