No! It can't be over! Reading this was one more reason to look forward to Fridays. I have really enjoyed reading it. I love how insecure Rory was when he came to see Charlie. He stuttered from being so nervous, which is so endearing. I look forward to seeing further stories.

I'm sorry it's over too, funnily enough! But there will be more, I promise. And thank you for commenting - I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I haven't been able to read since the end of chapter 14. Do you know what it's like, knowing there was a story out there like this, just waiting to be finished, but not being able to do anything about it???!

oh wait. Look who I'm talking to. You're the same girl that put off reading pip's "You're a map"... until all the chapters were completed. *grin*

for some of us mere mortals, it's been excruciatingly difficult. *smile*

I plan on going back and commenting on the other chapters, but I have to let you know how emotional this ending was for me. This paragraph here :points below: is what sums up their entire relationship. The struggle, the vulnerability, the hope for their future. It's all right here.

For the first time saw that Rory was completely open, and he could read him - all the myriad emotions - the want, the longing, the fear, the despair - all of it. It made Charlie want to hold him and protect him and keep him safe, and hurt him and shout at him for all the slights that he had endured. It made him want to burrow ( ... )

Wow! Thank for the feedback - and my compliments on your strength for holding out so long. *g* I do hope that it will stand up to re-reading - and please let me know if there are any problems that you spot. I'm hoping to have a download version in Word 2003 up on the website in the next few days.

I enjoyed this probabaly more than I should! I would LOVE for you to do more.

"You didn't really leave anything behind, you know."

Too sweet! I always knew that Rory had a sweet side!

Thank you! I'll certainly be doing more (well, I've already done more, but I'll be re-writing it all since people want to read a proper story).

And yes... boys. They can't just turn up and say "I fancy you rotten, let's go home and shag." There has to be a non-emotional reason for everything. And yes, he does have a sweet side, but it's going to be a long time before he's completely comfortable with showing any emotion other than anger.

Yes, that was what I thought too - he has only two scenes, a total of six minutes on screen, and yet Billy manages to make him a three-dimensional character, with fascinating glimpses of vulnerability and even a conscience.

Rory might have finally admitted (at least, to himself) that he loves Charlie, but he's certainly not turned into an angel. There's a long way to go before he really changes. And while Charlie realises that now, it's a bit different when he has to experience the reality of life with Rory. Stay tuned...
