So Alicia and I have been seeing each other for going on about two months now, and things had generally been going pretty well - we have a lot of fun when we get together, we have a lot in common, we talked on the phone a lot when it wasn't feasible to actually be in the same place at the same time, and her kids and I get along

What the cake. :/ Sorry Al... I don't understand that either. >< If you decide to attempt to salvage it, I wish you the best...but you're a braver man than I. I couldn't fathom being in a long term relationship with someone who does that without warning especially. Naturally it's different if there's a good reason for it, but if there was...I don't see why there would be dodgyness about it. <.< Take care man.

I think the last sentence of the second paragraph there pretty much sums up what I wanted to say.

I don't date, but if I did and something like that happened to me... well, regardless of whether or not I wanted to patch it up, I'd at least want a better explanation than that. "I just don't see it working out" seems a like a pretty obvious cop-out to me -- at the least, it begs the questions of "Why not?" and "What happened to change your mind?". Yes, pursuing it would probably stir up drama, but I certainly wouldn't want to leave something like that sitting out unanswered. (Even if there's a good explanation, I'd rather know what it is -- and aside from "it might stir up drama", what do you have to lose at this point from at least trying to get a better explanation about it?)

...Granted, I'm probably the last person who should be giving out advice on this kind of thing, but that's how I feel about it, at any rate. Good luck, Al, whatever you end up doing. :/
