You know what, you did what was right, you were helping a friend and I commend you for that, even if she isn't very happy about it right now.
When/if she gets hurt she will remember what you said and she'll know you are a true friend and you'll be someone that she can, hopefully, lean on when she's sadder but wiser. Good for you for following your gut and doing the HARD thing when it would have been easy to ignore it and let her just make her own mistakes.

Ah, yes, about the friend. I'm afraid there's not much one can do in those situations. As you said, she'll just have to discover it on her own. Yet, at least you gave her fair warning.
