Just so the signal doesn't zero out completely ...
Windows update on Falcon resulted in BSOD on boot-up and forced a restoration of the system disk from backup. Restore sucessful, but the disk is acting very flakey, likely has a number of bad sectors, and all my disk repair tools error out with "cannot open volume for direct write access" warnings. Paitent is alive but will probbably require a disk transplant to make a full recovery.
Pending one final preliminary check, I'm moving in a little under a month for a new job. One that requires a security clearance ... and being a few hundred miles from my fiance. In a direction neither of us particularly wants me to go, geographicly speaking, in the short term. Long term remains to be seen, but has potential to end up where we want to provided the entire country doesn't collapse by then.
