Cursed, I am?
Well that's two for two on loosing a ship the first time I take it out after installing Shadow gear onto it. And Tech II EW cruisers in both cases, so a lot of other high end fittings in addition to bupkis for the in-game insurance.
I say cursed because in both cases it was stupid decisions that cost me the ship. Lachesis was warping straight back into a fight at only 1/4 armor, but that was to try and support the rest of the fleet so it happens. The Arazu was me trying to be fancy and dodge a lone interdictor by flying out of the damn bubble ... when I should've just burned back to the damn gate I had no intention of entering but the UI -somehow- decided I wanted to jump through instead of warping to station. (CCP has an annoying fondness "easy to use" context sensitive UI design, which is often compounded by their penchant for not refining the aforementioned UI past the "enough to make sure the server code works" stage before release.)
Meh. It's just been a very up-and-down week in general, I mostly needed to rant about something and this is as good a subject as any.
