I am so happy that I'm a nerd and allowed to freak out about this.
Gah I absolutely ADORED it. Oh my lord. I want to grab that Alfonzo and give him a big ol' smooch.
I had to get used to how much they've grown. It's laughable. I love the awkwardness aaahahah!
Such a threesome they've got going on. Bwah.
Draco! With ACNE! Dear, please, cut your hair.
NEVILLE!
New Dumbledore (with really different voice) and Lupin were very different than from what I was used to or imagined, the dog/Grim that is Sirius- I imagined him different too. Everything grows on you though. Emma Thompson was Trelawney!!! LOVED her.
ETA: Holy crap Madame Rosmerta was Julie Christie??!
New direction brownie points
1) Great new angles
2) Good scene transitions
3) Great scenic cinematography with CGI- very LOTR influenced I imagine
4) The kids being more modern- the clothes, etc. The new 'dos were pretty funny though.
Heh I kept whispering with my friend Lindsey about all the paintings on the walls that we recognized. We are such art history dorks.
Things I missed
1) No explaination of the origin of the Marauder's Map- why didn't Harry question why Lupin knew so much about it?
2) Less music than last time- or maybe I just wasn't paying attention? John Williams MAKES Harry Potter what it is, really. <3 him.
I dunno, that was all really that I notably missed. Maybe I forget now. One of my favorite scenes, or one that I noted was the image of them down by the frozen over lake, and the camera pans back to get this great angle of them (Sirius and Harry) as the Dementors descend. Very cool.
I'm seeing it again later today too, have to take the little sister now. ;)
I also saw
Saved! And... yeah well okay. It was funny before it got bad. See it for Macaulay Culkin- not kidding. He was great, so was Mary Louise Parker.
I graduate on SUNDAY. Weirdness. I don't wanna grow up nooooo! Except yeah, I really do. Oh, confusion!
