i KNEW i had this quote somewhere in me. i was like, it's a movie with like...pilots and shit. like top gun, only sci-fci...or something. well, not quite, right? starship troopers? the uber sci-fi bug movie? *holds breath* yes no, maybe so?

in a good way or a bad way? i've only seen the first episode and i'm trying to decide whether or not i should invest the time effort and money in nabbing the dvds. your thoughts? (i must say, i did like the first episode)

Yeah! It's that movie... with the bugs and pilots and junk!

In a good way, in a good way, but sometimes it's like information OVERLOAD, for me anyway, because there's so much imagery and little clues to decipher. I love the show though because at first glance it's good versus evil, and who hasn't seen that before, but it's really got a lot more to it. I think it's really creative, and the writers really like to research.

Plus it's really pretty, um.

I would recommend watching a few more episodes if you can, or maybe reading the summaries on HBO.com, simply because I don't know if the weirdness (it's WEIRD, yo) of the show would turn you off or not. Damn the dvds for being so expensive! Also, because more people are tuning in the 2nd season the writers will try to clue new people in too.

i watched the first episode because -- one, i love nick stahl; two -- i love the california dust bowl; and three -- all of the reviews had compared it to the wierdest television show ever (twin peaks), which also happens to be one of my favourite tv shows ever. hey, it's even got the little man from the red room, only he's not dancing little spasms and talking backwards about some FBI agent's favourite chewing gum. i would have kept with it, but my parents cancelled the cable. but now the dvd's out and i've discovered bittorrent, i thought i'd give it a try.
