For the most part, I really liked it! Extremely pretty movie. I plan on seeing it again with Liz in 3D. The effects were damned nice, and I loved the stunts performed. Very kickass. And HOLY SHIT pretty much jizzed myself when Daft Punk appeared in the club.
I really only had one problem with the film and that it's I felt like it SHAT ALL OVER TRON HIMSELF. I mean, after the flashback dealing with Clu, Tron, and Flynn, I pretty much concluded Rinzler and Tron were one in the same, but in the end, you see Tron sinking. So maybe he's not dead? IDK, but I feel like since the movies are (more or less) about Tron that it was kind of a letdown on his character. :/ And although epic as Flynn's death was, I really WISH HE DIDN'T DIE because I love him much more than I like his son, Sam, who is kind of your generic cut-out young protagonist.
Buuuut other than that, really just a fun film and visually awesome. I think pretty much my favorite thing, however small it is, is how the voices of the programs sounded. A little dry, a little mechanic sounding. Could listen to that all day. C:
The soundtrack for Tron: Legacy is half-awesome and half-generic epic music. The half-awesome portions are flavorful Daft Punk, and the remainder is not-so-memorable portions of the score, but the parts that do matter? Are freakin' awesome.
Overall, time well spent. Gonna be better in 3D.
