This guy is amazing. The son of legendary Malian guitarist Ali Farka Toure, he is both a fitting successor to his father and an amazing talent in his own right. Check this stuff out, distinctly impure amd brilliant African music, cross-pollinated with its kissing cousins, blues and rock and roll. Here is the music video for his single "Ana".

I saw him headline at Globalquerque! last September - he and his band were amazing, virtuoso in the Jimi Hendrix sense of that term.

I would definitely see him again!!!

PS - did you know I'm going on the Cayamo cruise next February! SOOOOO excited! Plus, I've got tickets to see Lyle Lovett and John Hiatt on their landlubber tour in October.
