And this time it's music.....
I read an interview with John Grant this summer, he played Roskilde Festival and much later I stumbled over one of his vids on youtube, and must say Queen of Denmark had me immediately hooked.
He has an amazing voice and brilliant lyrics, I don't think I've ever experienced feelings being so well put. It screams pain, frustration, love, anger and done with a touch of humour that I love.
The album version of Queen of Denmark is absolutely great to listen to on angry dark mornings and wonderful on happy ones, but the Strong room version is strong?!

So his first album was love at first 'sight', second album is still growing on me, and it's definitely the right choice for album of the year

Pale Green Ghosts has more synthesizers and might be more danceable, since I'm not a dancer I wouldn't know.

it has a radio-safe version too; Greatest living creature, happy to live in a place where profanity isn't a crime.
Glacier and especially this version is absolutely amazing.

This pain
It is a glacier moving through you
And carving out deep valleys
And creating spectacular landscapes
And nourishing the ground
With precious minerals and other stuff
So, don't you become paralyzed with fear
When things seem particularly rough
Love the image of the glacier leaving good stuff, and yep working on that fear all the time ;)
