Madre Tierra lived on a beautiful Island in the middle of a warm sea, the Currybean. She did not live in a house but her Garden. It was very beautiful, full of palm trees that shake when she makes them and rain coconuts down for her to eat. She does not have a carpet but thick green grass with yellow flowers pocking through to make a pretty pattern. Madre Tierra was very happy here, where she could garden, walk around barefoot and with dirt under her nails. She would let her hair down and it would reach to her ankles so she always walked with her head down so she wouldn't trip up.

But she was not alone because her Brother Sky was always above watching her, telling her what to aviod if she doesn't see.

But then one day Madre Tierra went on vacation because she wanted to collect different flowers for her Garden and Brother Sky followed her from above, always watching out for her. With her baskets and cages, she was about to catch a pet monkey when suddenly she found a man lying on the ground. He was Padre Tiempo and he had been hurt, his favorite watch had been smashed and would not work. She rushed to him and got on her knees and asked if he was ok.

"Wake up! Wake up!" But he would not wake so she kissed him and held his hand. But still he would not wake but then she saw that his watch was broken and hurting him so she took it off and suddenly Padre Tiempo woke up and saw Madre Tierra.

She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen and he fell immediately in love. Madre Tierra thought he was an angel and held him, loved him with all her heart and they went on together through the jungle.

When this was happening someone called Shanti killed everyone and the world was changed, there was no more people in the cities and even in small villages and no new things could be made or bought from shops. But Padre Tiempo saved a few and brought them to his home. He lived in the desert to escape, in a huge paper shop and this is where they all lived in peace. But Madre Tierra grew sad and bored because she could not garden like she used to, there was hardly any water. Tiempo Padre did not want her to be unhappy so he moved the hand on his clock forward and Madre Tierra changed the season to rainy. And it poured down and the clouds covered the sky so she could not see her Brother anymore. But the grass began to grow and she was pleased and loved Padre Tiempo for his gift.

"Gracias mi angel, I think I should repay you." But all Padre Tiempo wanted was to be her Husband and asked her to marry him. Madre Tierra was overjoyed and agreed, giving him a big hug. But when Madre Tiempo went outside to tell her Brother the good news he had gone and she could not find him.

"Have you gone back home Brother?" He had, to watch over her Garden so she could not see him. Madre Tierra was very upset and sad and packed her things and ripped up her flowers and placed them in her hair to take back with her. But Padre Tiempo would not let her leave because he loved her and they were going to have a baby together. So Madre Tierra said.

"I will not be married without my Brother to watch over me. I must go and get him back."

But Padre Tiempo held her and would not let go. "You can not leave, it is not the right time. We have a baby now." He touched her belly and pointed to a clock and she looked down. She was round like a hill and she touched her baby bump. She agreed to stay and have her daughter but she was still angry about not being able to see her Garden and Brother Sky. The warm season changed into winter because Madre Tierra had become cold and this is when their baby was born, four days before baby Jesus.

They named the baby Hope, and later her Padre would say it was because she was the only good thing left in the world. Her Padre loved Hope very much and her Madre did to but because she could not go home she grew more angry everyday.

"I have been uprooted, this is not my soil." She would say in a thick, hard voice and Padre Tiempo would try to make her happy and bring her even richer soil to plant in. But still she would not be happy, even for her daughter. She plaited her long hair and would not let it down so he couldn't touch it. She spent all her time out in her small garden, that Padre Tiempo had tried to help her make, but she would not kiss and hug him anymore and he grew so very sad and stopped making his clocks and watches. Hope wanted her Madre to be nice to her Padre but she would just look at the sky and cry.

"Oh if only you could see my beautiful Garden and my Brother Sky carino, then you would want to leave this place forever. Just you and me."

But Hope did not want to go without her Padre. Hope pleaded with all her heart, crying. "Please, please Madre love Padre again! If you do not then I will go and you will never see me again until you do marry him!" And before her Madre could catch her Hope ran far away over the desert, going to a big but empty City. She knew that her Madre would not enter this garden-less place, only her Padre and he would not go anywhere without Madre Tierra.

So Hope waited and waited and wished and wished every second for her parents to find her and tell her that they were happy and married. Even as the weeks past into years and Hope was very lonely and cried she still stayed and prayed. Even when her hair went white and her back bent over and she had to walk with a cane she still looked out of her window and hoped. Till one day, when she was on her deathbed a young man came and stood at the end and started to cry and she realised that it was her own Padre!

"I'm so sorry it's taken me this long, I was running on a schedule and I can't seem to make your Madre do much of anything...But I'm here now and everything will be fine! I'm taking you home to see Madre!"

Hope opened her arms for a hug but she was so old now that she couldn't even walk. But her Padre brought out a special watch that had her name on it and wound back Time until it wasn't an old woman sitting in the bed but a little girl. She jumped up and her Padre picked her up and hugged her, laughing. He could do anything. Hope looked at her Padre and asked why it had taken so long for him to come and why Madre could not come also.

"Because it takes a very long time to make a Garden like the one your Madre once had and can only be done by two people. We had to work together and that took a very long time. But we did it and she is now happy and loves me, now we can be a Special Family." Hearing this Hope burst into tears and held onto her Padre as he brought her back home.

As they made their way out of the City the concrete did not change into sand and dust like she expected but grass and trees, filled with birds and monkeys and all sorts of animals that her parents had found and put there. Coming through a gate they come to a place that Hope remembers and she sees that it was her old home and standing there waiting was her pretty Madre.

She was no longer angry and sad but smiling and the sun came out when she did. Her hair was free and wild and touched the grass. Seeing her daughter she rushed forward and held her to her chest and would not let go, kissing her head and telling her how much she loved her and how sorry she was.

"I'm so sorry my baby that granting your wish has took this long but tending to Gardens can take a long time to get right and me and your Padre had to stop fighting to do it. But now look!" She waved her hand over their now huge and pretty Garden. As she did a wedding ring flashed on her finger and she leaned over to kiss Padre Tiempo who grew happy again and started making more clocks and watches as Madre Tierra made the flowers and food grow.

And Madre Tierra is now embraced by Padre Tiempo right round the clock and Hope and her family lived very happy and after some time she had brothers and sisters to play with in the Garden.

The End.
