Maya's Theme
Maya's Theme. It still seems odd that a character who was rather sidelined, especially in s3, got this amazing theme written/composed for her. I think it consists of the duality in the character, the almost psychedelic lullaby pointing to her childlike sensibility while the more passionate, powerful drums and chanting represent the power of her ability and the feelings she experiences. It reminds me of what her story would have been if not for the writer's strike: a woman who saves the entire world.
Here's the (rough) translation for the lullaby section of the theme:
Sleep Maya, you are in ancient hands.
Maya don´t cry, you are pretty and enchanting.
Close your eyes. What beautiful eyes you have.
Sleep Maya, that miracles are coming.
