snowflake challenge...days 5-8
okay so life has been too busy soo catching up times...Days 3&4 were to do something on someone else's space and I did those.
Day 5
In your own space, share something non-fannish you are passionate about with your fannish friends. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I feel like an elitist prick. Can I just say the 60's? It's not really fannish. It's definitely passion. I scour google blogs to find the 'rare', the 'unreleased from EMI's vaults', the 'we couldn't even figure out who owns the rights to these if we tried', the 'orphans' in terms of music. It started when I was on a message board for the Vines when I was 14 (i wanna get freeeeee i wanna get freeeee...yeeeah those guys lol)...and the people on there had such amazing music taste. One got me onto Nuggets which is a compilation series of underground 60s hits from 1965-1968...they've had a few spin offs since (and copycat'ers 'Rubble' and 'Pebbles') and it just gave me such a love for 60s music. I'm also a fucking nerd for 'the times'. My favorite book is the Electric Kool Aid Acid Test which tells the story of the people who made acid popular. It was all such a hedonistic time and just their thoughts were something we could never have right now. Now, I'm not one to wear rose-tinted glasses I'm just saying I like to daydream what it would be like to be in a world where we questioned everything and yet everything seems so new...but instead we're in post-modern hell :p Ahem anyways...

In your own space, rec at least 3 fanworks you thought you wouldn't like (because they weren't your fandom or they pushed against your boundaries or you thought you just wouldn't be interested) and that you ended up loving.
LMAO whereeeee do I begin? Yours truly has plenty of experience with that from tagging the footballslash archives.
The first that automatically springs to mind was written by fbslash's owner _runningmascara, to let you believe. As much as I joke about Cris being slashed all around the place I didn't think I would enjoy any kink with him...um clearly I'm a liar and stupid because this is amazing. He's with Gabriel Heinze and there's daddy!kink and it's amazing. annnnd bonus!generation kill (because I will make you love them)...is um anything Nate/Ray. Now I love Brad more than it should be humanly possible so I was gung-ho on reading Brad/Ray first. Like mad. But my roommate secondstar who made me watch it linked me to a bajillion Brad/Nate fics and well...I got lost in wonderland and have yet to make it through everything (one day Brad/Ray...one day!) But yeah I got really bored one day and said fuck it and wanted to read some jealousy!fic/needed a laugh so I figured try Nate/Ray...I was dy-ing from the awesomeness of _steelphoenix_'s Diamond Eyes it's a Sons of Anarchy AU which is ridic and I love it and it's rated R and 17,000 words. (and ahem bonus bonus grim_lupine's Seven Days is just pure smut. for oh they didn't put w.c. um it's 2 parts so at least 10k. so NC-17 it burns.)

Lol I'm not picky! Whatever kink/writing-ish thing I have I push onto secondstar who basically fulfills my every wish (and some I didn't know I have like her surprise birthday gift to me, Ink).
I only want 2 things really and they're pretty incongruous. The weird one first...drug fic. Like I get it, it would only be AU because of doping blah blah. But I waaaaaant it *pout* I want more seedy explorations of characters and more...experimental sex that way. It gives it a surreal edge and I'm all about surreal, cerebral writing. So even if it's not drugs it's just...trippy? I want that :p
Ahem anyways *puts on responsible adult hat* I want moooooreeeee multimedia fic. The best example I can think of hands down is cannonsburn's A Brief History of Hemingway and STRING THEORY. It's Fabregas/Silva and rated PG and I would say 'how in the hell did I find this fic' but it's all thanks to my antipodean lover bumblebee13. This writer made such an effort with this fic, including dating website profiles of everyone and seriously as good as the fic was...the profiles were the funniest fucking bit! Like I want to put this in size 40 font so everyone will see this and read this.
And of course lovinthelads's pic fics. I die omg they are too fucking cute and the fact that she updates damn near every day with a new adventure is so amazing *applauds* I love all of the characterizations, esp Cris jr, David Luiz and Guti.
