It was -- I mean, it started with a different kind of decorations, like...like some kind of childish attempt to be creepy. Well, some of it wasn't so much decorations as changing what all the houses looked like into something that was trying too hard to be spooky. [Sort of a Nightmare Before Christmas kind of cutesy-creepy, but Earth pop culture references are pretty hard for a luddite from another world.] But they had decorations like pumpkins with faces carved into them. And people got forced into costumes....
[She shakes her head.] Maybe it's not really the same thing, but...it was for a holiday, too. And it didn't stop with decorations. Things were...bad.

I have to say this is the first time I've seen this sort of thing. [The lights. They have a sort of midwinter holiday on Auldrant, though.]
