PBs and Actors
For characters who do not have a visual canon appearance, I have chosen PBs (Played Bys) to represent them in icons. The PBs (as well as the actors and actresses for live-action characters) are as follows:
tech_oracle (Criminal Minds) - Kirsten Vangsness
Kirsten Vangsness plays Garcia on Criminal Minds. I believe all of her icons are actually of her as Garcia.
gokaiger_yellow / lets_treasure (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger) - Ichimichi Mao (primary), Hachisuka Yuichi (secondary)
Ichimichi Mao plays Luka on Gokaiger. Hachisuka Yuichi is Gokai Yellow's suit actor. Most of Luka's Sentai icons are not on LJ, nor are they of Gokai Yellow, but presumably Hachisuka-san plays the majority of them.
slacker_yellow (Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger [AU]) - Ichimichi Mao
Obviously, the same as OU Luka. Just without the suit actor, because she's a normal human.
facejustdecor (Kamen Rider Den-O) - Oshikawa Yoshifumi (primary), Nakamura Yuichi (secondary), Ito Makoto (tertiary)
Oshikawa Yoshifumi is the suit actor for Deneb, so he is inside the Deneb costume in most of my icons. Nakamura Yuichi is Yuuto's actor, so icons of Deneb possessing Yuuto are of Nakamura. Ito Makoto is the suit actor for Zeronos, so icons of Zeronos Vega Form are Ito.
rightcyclone (wikiwalking) (Kamen Rider W) - Suda Masaki (primary), Takaiwa Seiji (secondary), Ito Makoto (secondary)
Suda Masaki plays Philip on W. Takaiwa Seiji and Ito Makoto are the suit actors for W. At least one of Philip's icons is a modeling shot of Suda.
lady_blackguard (The Lightbringer Series) - Lucy Griffith, mostly taken from Marian from Robin Hood (BBC TV series).
Karris was hard to find a PB for, given the period requirements for the canon. I was browsing PB sites and saw Lucy, who fit what I needed, other than hair or eyes. I've used Photoshop to lighten her hair (some icons have worked better than others), as well as to edit her eyes, giving her the green halo and the red specks.
pir8qfeyadmiral (Peter Pan: The Wendy Trilogy) - Giselle Bündchen [temporary]
For now, I'm using Giselle Bündchen from the "grown up" photo that Disney did a line of, simply because I want to separate her from the "traditional" Disney Wendy (whom she is not). Eventually, I want to find a PB that works better, but for now I'll use Mrs. Bündchen.
cest_la_venus (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon) - Komatsu Ayaka
Komatsu Ayaka played Minako in PGSM. Some of her icons are from modeling photos of Komatsu-san.
conceivedatcon (Team Knight Rider) - Nick Wechsler
Nick Wechsler is the actor who played Trek in TKR.
kicktobefamous (The Uglies Series) - Arikawa Mizki
When I started searching for a PB for Aya, all I knew is that I needed a Japanese and/or close-enough Asian, who could reasonably be 15 and who had a slightly large nose. Since it's harder to find resources for Japanese actresses (although, I suppose I could've used a PB site), I used google, and I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of expressions I was able to find with Arikawa-san.
refusedtowed (Valorous Kingdoms) - Ember from ElfQuest.
Ember was chosen because a) Cosima is an elf, b) Ember fits with my "not wanting to follow strict order" idea of Cosima and c) since Cosima's been training in the more desert area, the darker complexion of Ember fits. From Ember, Cosima's also gained a bit of a fiery attitude (it's a requirement of redheads, isn't it?).
