DM'd 3e/3.5 for the first time last night - I haven't really been a DM since second edition, and it was kinda trippy.  We used the Pathfinder revisions, which made things simpler.  Feedback from my group was pretty much universally positive, and my own criticisms (such as that I need to speed up my combat and be more familiar with the monsters I ( Read more... )

<3 Tucker's Kobolds. I always had an inexplicable softspot for them, but then I read about Tucker's, and that sealed the deal.

On that note, I haven't had a chance to test drive Pathfinder yet. How easy was it to get going? Were there any comparisons drawn between it and old 3e/3.5 by your players?

It was pretty easy, actually. The skill points are a little hairy, but if you convert your characters from 3.5 over the skill points inexplicably remain at the same values in total. Grapple got changed to ~combat maneuver bonus~, which is in my opinion a better system. It was just annoying to keep converting 3.5 monsters to that form of grapple. Beyond that, it was Fucking Awesome.
