I think that this isn't quite right. Shouldn't it be something like "lock on targets" or "set course toward targets"? Or am I wrong?

No, it's just that vector refers to, ahem, "a chosen course or direction for motion, as of an aircraft" (or spacecraft in this case), so you can't really set the target's vectors.

When I see "vector", admittedly, I think

WE DEBATED EARTHQUAKES IN STATS TODAY. Hahaha, Bennett was trying to prove a point about Frequentist vs Bayesian theory by trying to prove that if there are 10 earthquakes and 5 volcanoes in 20 years, it's impossible to work out the likelihood of P(E n V) or whatever using both methods and it became a huge debate about geography and plate tectonics ...

Also. I won the year 12 prize for English and will not be in school that day. fml.
