Oh...that's so lovely. I really like that you've come up with such a fantastically unique take on the duel, and still managed to keep it believable. There is such a palpable feeling of frustration and despair...it came across really well assuming that's what you intended. Albus' love for Gellert is so believable and dimensional.
I do think that the fic would have benefited if perhaps the story of the duel had been sandwiched between the later musings of Albus on Snape's loyalties. That way, it wouldn't have seemed to come up so abrubtly at the end. Even with that though, it still works and is very lovely. Great job!
Haha yeah, you're right. The Snape reference came out of nowhere, I only noticed it after I wrote Albus' reaction to his betrayal. I probably should have left it out and let y'all find it for yourself, HP fans are smart that way.
