I am writing an essay on Harry Potter fan fiction as relating to the Grindelwald and Dumbledore relationship. If you would be willing to answer a few questions, I would really appreciate it! Answers to any/all of this would be tremendously helpful!
1) What prompted you to write fan fiction? Were you frustrated by the lack of development the relationship between the two wizards?
2) Does your inspiration come from other fans, life experience, or only the books?
3) How do you feel about Rowling’s announcement that Dumbledore is in fact homosexual? Did you think about this relationship prior to her announcement?
4) If you could have Rowling expand on the relationship, where would you want it to go? More on the physical side? Tragic? Happy? Romantic?
5) Do you think it’s important to have canon within fan fiction?
Thanks so much!!!
