Dear secret mutant,
Thank you so much for making something for me! Whatever it is, I'm going to love it, I promise.
I love historical AUs, competence in the characters, clever people and Erik. I just have strong feelings about him, okay, and of course Charles, always Charles, and the two of them together even when they're apart. Below is a visual representation of my love for Charles/Erik. As such, I prefer them not to be paired with anyone else.
If you're writing Genfic, either of them being the focus would make me happy. I love Erik's black/white logic which is so inexplicable to (Charles) other people sometimes, his drive and single-minded determination, and Charles' strong sense of honour and ethics, his humour, his desire to see the good in people. I fully embrace their flaws, too, don't get me wrong. I just love when they're portrayed as strong-minded men with ideals and vision, and as equals. I love it when they challenge each other, the way they do in canon. I really love them both to be BAMF, the leaders of men they both are. I love their respective struggles with their own demons. I love explorations of character backstories, mutant rights and delving into internal turmoil.
I love angst and pining, drawn-out UST and resolution thereof, separations, characters writing letters to each other.
I don't love crossovers, major character death, noncon or mpreg.

I've tagged both XMFC and DoFP movies for this prompt because I would love a character-driven fic or art which is set between XMFC and DoFP, and which explores Charles' mindset and life immediately after Cuba. I really love angst and I think I need to cry more for Charles in that time where everything was freshly lost and before he picked himself up again. Maybe it's at the hospital immediately following the beach? Maybe some time afterwards, his appearance showing that he's on the way to becoming the Charles who's aged and bitter in DoFP. In other words, a proper angst-fest. Please hurt me.

Maybe it starts accidentally? Like, they're newly together and stumble into it, discover that both get off on it. Erik sending Charles filthy visuals knowing they can't do anything until a training session is over. Charles touching himself through his trousers in full view of Erik where anyone could see if they looked and where they can't do anything about it, just to tease and edge. Anything like this where they draw it out, edge each other and then sneak off to some dark corner when they can barely hold it together anymore.

They find each other on the front lines.
I've nominated all the characters just in case the creator wants to include them, there is certainly no pressure to use any of them unless the creator wishes. (The timeline would have to be altered somewhat... Shaw said that he wasn't like the Nazis, that they were his means to an end, and that could work here, I think. Maybe ages have to be adjusted so that Erik is already a young man at the apex of the war. Maybe he was a little older or captured a little earlier, this is up to you, secret mutant.)
