Dear Yuletide Author,
Thank you so much for offering to write something in one of these fandoms.
I think the most important thing to say upfront is that I hope you will write something you really enjoy. I'm going to prompt you with some ideas, but honestly, any new fic in these fandoms is a gift and I'll love whatever you make. Please write to your rating preferences. I will be happy to receive a story of any rating that you're comfortable with, however, Yuleporn is always welcome.
I'm a shipper at heart and also a multishipper, I love rare pairs, threesomes and moresomes and I'm happy to be surprised by fandom xovers. I really love ust, angst and pining, however, I would prefer no character death please.
In case you're interested in finding out more about my preferences, here is something I prepared earlier:
Yays and Nays.
Here are my requested fandoms and some prompt ideas, I hope something resonates and inspires you to write. Good luck and thank you! <3
Political Animals
TJ Hammond
It's really all about TJ/Happiness for me, it always will be, and whatever way you can find to achieve this, I'm going to love it. It doesn't have to be with another person in a shippy fic - it can be gen, through finding his way in the world, making some peace with himself, a career, his piano playing, something that brings him happiness and sets him on a positive path.
If you're feeling shippy, I've cherished the fandom crossover pairing of TJ Hammond/Mark Watney from The Martian film - tis' a stroke of genius which is completely unexpected and I am 100000% open to this or to other fandom crossovers as well if you feel that it would work. If you'd like to write a shipfic then I would love a story where he finds someone to love and it's good and healthy and empowering. I would happily read that for ten thousand years <3

Lost Boys
David, Michael Emerson
I just love the look and feel of this movie, it's so evocative. I love the stories that are told within it, and I think that it's a wonderful canon for explorings things like first times, coming of age, etc. It'd be perfect for location/scenery porn, the environment is so rich and interesting, all those bright, hot summer places that get real dark at night.
I love David and I'd love to know more about him, about his past. How did he gather the others around him, or was it all Max's doing? What sort of man was David before he became a vampire? How did becoming a vampire change him? I'd love to get a glimpse into his past, maybe even how Max turned him.
I love the David/Michael ship, I ship them pretty hard tbh. I love it for the fascination with darkness that Michael experiences and wants to explore as much as David is drawn to something light in him, perhaps, something wholesome and corruptible that he enjoys testing. Max leaves them to their own devices and I would love to know about their dynamic without him, how they conduct and govern themselves. Tell me more about the coven and how it came to be, I'll love it. And if you just want to concentrate on the fratboy feel of the vampire cave, go for it, author. My favourite characters are David and Michael but if you want to add any of the others in, please go ahead.

My Own Private Idaho
Mike Waters, Scott Favor
Every time I watch this film I think about it for days afterwards, the beautiful sweeping shots, the richness of the landscapes and all that loneliness and heartbreak, and what that ending means for each of them but especially Mike. I can't stand the idea that someone awful found him, that he never made it through. Is it Scott's car? I always thought it might be and that helped me make peace with the ending but then I saw a theory that it's literally a random motorist who picks him up and if that's your thinking then I guess I just want a different ending, maybe some hope for them. Maybe it's not someone with bad intentions, Maybe he was taken to hospital, I don't know. I need some hope that he made it! I imagine them meeting up again years later and how that might go, awkward laughter, pointedly talking around the memories, working out how to relate to each other again. Or maybe the opposite is true and it's like they've never been apart, just slotting neatly back together. Do they talk about the jobs and the people? Do they ever sit and laugh and shake their heads and talk about the weird and downright scary, dangerous things they did for money without a care for their own safety? Does the class difference between them still play a part or is it a wall that's shattered through life experience? I never could decide if Scott would be just neatly absorbed back into the fold or if he'd be compelled to rebel and push against it still. Does Scott still identify strongly as straight as he gets older and sees more of life? Does Mike ever stop looking for his mother?
I would dearly love a story which explores what their relationship could be like down the line, what they might have learned from those days, how they might relate to each other when they're both a little older.
Or maybe they weren't separated at all? Maybe they stuck together and made it through together somehow. I'm aching for a happy ending for them. I would treasure a story that makes this happen, somehow, where they get to keep each other. I love the angst and pining and the kind of heartbreak that stays with you - that's so strong in this film, I adore it. I would love to see it capitalised upon and resolved into a good ending for them both.

The 13th Warrior (1999)
Buliwyf, Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan
I love cultural differences and this canon would be amazing for an exploration of this aspect. Maybe there's a traditional or seasonal event that Buliwyf needs to take Ahmed to? Maybe it's about traditional food, or partner swapping or bed thralls or battle preparation, coming-of-age traditions in their society which Ahmed witnesses or other traditional or sacred rites. Tattooing? Body marking of some kind? Shield-brother type stuff? Something that Ahmed might be shocked about but warms to. Maybe you can lose them in a snowstorm so they have to huddle, braid hair and tell each other secrets. I love the stranded-together trope, even if it's not shippy. If you can find a way to bring them together in a way that's all about exploring the differences in each other's cultures or in each other, that would be amazing.

Only Lovers Left Alive
Adam, Eve
I don't think I'll ever be tired of this film and the feeling it leaves me with. I want to know more about Adam, I want to hear about his affair with Mary Shelley. I want to know about ALL their affairs and the conversations they have about them in person or online, about meeting these brilliant, inspiring minds among fleeting humanity. I want to know about the ones that got away, and the ones that Adam wishes they'd turned. I want to know about the music he has composed and I want to know about all the times he and Eve actually lived together as a couple and the angst of how it didn't work for them so well, and why. I want to know about all the times they've evaded exposure or the near misses. In short, anything at all! I will love whatever you write, author. I adore them and there is so much scope for fic here if even one of those concepts is explored.
Ian and Ava were not nominated but if you want to include them in your story in whatever capacity, please go ahead. And if you're feeling like including them more than a little, author, I'd love for Ian not to die, and be turned instead. I think Ian, Adam and Eve would be amazing together, and even Ava, if you're feeling the foursome. I will even go so far as to say I would pretty much die from happiness if the sisters could snugglekiss and watch while Adam rescues/turns Ian. Or if he just takes Ian to bed, human or vampire, whatever scenario you feel like, but I am in love with the idea that Adam and Eve are the main pairing, and it's all about them, but they are so open and sexually candid with each other after all those centuries that it would be a beautiful, sensual experience for them to watch each other fuck.
I thank you very much in advance for writing something for me ♥ ♥ ♥
