Uncomfortable in the strange city of Minas Tirith, surrounded by so many...mortals...but then, Alcawyn was a mortal too. A second-born.
Yes, but I bloody am not supposed to like second-born. The trouble we've had with them these past ages is enough to make any anu loony...
Then there was that awful nagging voice that reminded him, he hadn't exactly left Caras Galadhon on good terms either...
How had he wound up in this position? An elf, with a young mortal who had only been born a mere matter of months ago and...and...and...
and.
He was perhaps the only one to not notice the odd hunted look in his eyes, the bafflement and confusion nearing on terror that lately, was growing more and more common each time this strange daughter of two men would smile at him.
This was very unnerving for Orophin.

Inside the room the crying sound died down, and for a few moments their was nothing but silence. Then the door opened with a creaking noise and Alcawyn peeked out nervously, her face tear streaked and a string of deep red beads around her neck. Her breathing was still ragged from crying, and when she saw Orophin standing in the door, she blushed and quickly wiped her eyes with the back of her hand.
"I'm sorry... did I wake you? I was just... uh..." She looked down and clutched at the beads around her neck. "Uh... don't worry about it ... Never mind."

Frowning, "Please don't say next that nothing is wrong, because that won't be true. No, you didn't wake me, I was just...er...wandering about." He suddenly paused and looked more closely at her face.
"You were crying..." A single finger reaching out to brush a tear that has yet to dissolve into the skin, the wet liquid beading then spotting the tip of a pale finger.
"I'd...take you outside for some fresh air, much better than stuffy indoors I say, but there seems to be quite the storm brewing outside. Let's find a good commons room with a big fire place..."
Nudging her out of her room and going in, pulling up a blanket draped on a chair and leaving the room, shutting the door behind him and draping the blanket around her without even thinking about it. "Don't know about humans that well, hear you get cold quite easily..."
Alcawyn nodded meekly and followed Orophin silently down the hall, pulling the blanket tighter around he shoulders and trying not to sniffle or start crying again.
"Yeah, we do get cold sometimes. I heard elves don't get cold at all, though. Is that true?"
((oh argh you made me tear up at work...I know you worked your ass off on this, and it was worth the wait! I stand ready with her living parent if there's an opportunity...))
