i've heard only good things about Apple, but THIS!!! i think, charge 30 dollars is the most stupid thing i've ever heard about malls.

Actually, charging a 15% restocking fee on opened electronics isn't out of the ordinary.

No, I was told that if I wanted to switch out the broken 8GB for a 16GB that I'd have to first do a straight exchange, and then pay a restocking fee on an UNOPENED ipod, that hadn't left the store, in order to switch to the 16gb. Which I'm sure is just BS because the hourly couldn't be bothered doing some extra typing into a keyboard.

Restocking fee on opened electronics I don't have an issue with.....restocking fee for an unopened item is ludicrous.

that is fucked up and angers me. but i am surprised about your macs failing, mine has never crashed. i did have a kernel panic last winter, taking 3 buses to the apple store and back was not fun. but dealing with them was no problem. i guess i was fortunate. and ive always known ipods are shitstorms of problems and malfunctions so i have avoided them so far.
