The return of - oh, wait, you're kidding . . .

At long last, I have returned. Clemsonia.

I was a bit less effective than I expected this break - not as much reading was done as I planned. To wit:

J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings, Book 1: The Ring Sets Out
J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings, Book 2: The Ring Goes South
Richard Feynman, Six Easy Pieces
Richard Feynman, Six Not-So-Easy ( Read more... )

I was recommended Six Not So Easy Pieces a few years back, but never had the chance to pick it up.

How is that?

As the title suggests, it's harder work than the previous book. It starts with a crash course on vector mechanics and mathematical and physics conventions, mostly stuff I learned in freshman calculus.

There's lots of stuff on four-dimentional space and curved space, and perhaps best of all is a mathematical proof of special relativity.

It's very heavy in calculus, but well worth the effort, I think.
