Can anyone tell me what Linux looks like?

I've always thought it looked like DOS - basic command prompt, who needs GUI?

But I've never seen screen shots, so I don't know for sure.

Anyone care to tell?

If I remember correctly, the prompt looks something like:
< username@domain directory >
or
< username@domain $bash >

Something like that.

Couldn't help notice this question was duplicated on welovegeeks, but I'll answer it here; since here is where my browser happens to be pointed. Linux is just the kernel of an operating system and by definition; a kernel has no user interface. To have a user interface a shell is wrapped around the kernel. To make the shell do anything useful, one must have applications to run from the shell
