Carried away by a moonlight shadow

Well, that's it. The last hurrah. Graduation, that damned beast that's been looming over me like its big brother Death, has ensnared me in its claws. So many of my fellow classmates are going directly into jobs, or grad school, or medical school ( Read more... )

Yeah, I definitely hear you on all of this. I'm in a similar boat.

And, right on schedule with last year, my car broke down on the side of the interstate Friday on the way home, and I had to get my ass towed to another backwater town and stay the night while I left my car in the hands of a local mechanic. I stayed at this guy's outdoor shop for all of yesterday waiting for him to finish it, only to get sunburned and find out that he can't finish it without some parts, parts that can't be acqired until at least Monday, if not later.

So I called my family and they came the 4 hours out there to get me and bring me to Carthage. So now I'm stuck, and worse yet, my cell phone is completely dead here because there are no towers around. And, of course, I gave my cell # to all the places I applied for jobs for so they could contact me.

When I get a job I'm getting a new car.

Ouch.

My brakes failed on I-95, about 30 miles west of Boston, which was all sorts of exciting. Made due with downshifting and survived, which would have been surprising even *with* a fully functional vehicle. Haven't checked yet exactly what happened, but my guess is that I was leaking fluid for about a hundred miles or so.

Anyway, the important thing is that I didn't repair my car like everyone told me to and still made the entire trip, albeit barely. Had this happened in the parts of Pennsylvania I was in, I would be entirely screwed.

As for your situation, if my car were breeding a new form of fungal life form, that would be reason enough to sell. Ew.
