You're the one that had to get in line for another lunch because of it.

I'm really sorry, though... [He really does look regretful about it. Especially since after that Ed offered to help with his homework...]

Are you sure you're not busy? I can probably figure it out if I work hard enough.

[Ed doesn't bother to argue that he doesn't need to apologize again, since it doesn't seem to be getting him anywhere anyway. Instead he focuses on the change of subject.]

It's no problem, really! [He isn't going to mention he doesn't spend that time doing his own homework, either - considering he gets decent enough grades without that much effort.]

Besides, I'm the one that owes you. If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have lost your lunch.

I'd feel better about it if you let me help you. [He'd also like to get the kid's mind off of it, so he didn't break into apologies every time they saw each other after this - but he wasn't about to say that much out loud, either.]

[Ed wasn't expecting such an apologetic reaction to his post. Frankly, Ed was expecting the person that darted in front of him while he wasn't paying attention to be a lot more .... aggressive than the girl he was looking at right now.

[Even if he wasn't answered with the full blown fight he was expecting, he wasn't going to accept the apology so easily either.]
