So a couple of years ago, the editor of Ars Caidis (our local A&S publication) asked me for an article. I'd been doing considerable research for the Pictorial Dictionary, and I kept finding charges that had never been registered in the SCA. So I wrote up an article with about a dozen such charges, including their dates, sources, and emblazons ( ( Read more... )

You could put the article up on the Caid Wiki. That would be pretty cool I think.

I'll take your word for it. Of course, since two charges in the original article have been submitted since then, I had to remove them. I put in two *new* charges: the fish-weel and the sieve.

Though I assume it's something completely different, my first thought at "fish-wheel" was a scene from UHF. Red snappah!

Completely different. It's a fish-trap, sort of like a couple of truncated wicker cones with their bases conjoined. Also called an eel-weir.

I want to wait and see if the Proceedings actually proceed. If it's not published there, I'll look into other venues. (I may do that anyway, even if the Proceedings proceed... but out of courtesy, I'll wait until they do.)

It makes sense that you'd want to wait, and not just, erm, charge ahead. :-)

Happy Easter!
